The court has told the Telangana Information Commission to take action on a request made by Kanukuntla Manga. The request was delayed because there was no one in a key position, but now the commission has been ordered to resolve it within 90 days.

The Case: Kanukuntla Manga vs. Telangana Information Commission

Kanukuntla Manga, a college teacher, filed a formal request asking the Telangana Information Commission to look into her second request from October 25, 2024. She wanted the commission to tell the Public Information Officer to give her the information she asked for.

Why the Delay?

The government representative explained that the delay in dealing with Kanukuntla Manga's request was because there was no Secretary at the Telangana Information Commission. This missing person meant the request couldn't be handled earlier.

"Since there was a vacancy of the Secretary of Telangana Information Commission, the appeal of Kanukuntla Manga could not be disposed of..."

The Court's Decision

Judge T. Madhavi Devi decided that the commission should now look at Kanukuntla Manga's request and make a decision within 90 days from getting the court order. This means the commission must act quickly to solve the issue.

No Extra Costs

The court also mentioned that there would be no extra costs related to this request. Any other pending requests related to this case are closed.

"Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs."

This decision is a big step for Kanukuntla Manga, making sure her request is finally looked at after the initial delay.
