Quick Summary: Thodeti Kavya Sri, a student, missed an important deadline for her medical course application. The court has given her a chance to ask the university to reconsider her application.

The Missed Opportunity

Thodeti Kavya Sri, a 21-year-old student, wanted to apply for undergraduate courses in MBBS/BDS under the Management Quota "B" category for the 2025-2026 school year. She signed up under the "A" category but missed the deadline to choose her options in the first round of counseling.

Why the Delay Happened

Kavya Sri didn't know she had to make her choice by 2:00 p.m. on September 24, 2025, according to the notice on September 22, 2025. Because she didn't pick her options on time, she wasn't allowed to choose in the next round, which is meant to stop people from holding onto seats without deciding.

"Candidates who do not exercise web options in the first phase shall not be eligible for the next phase," stated the university's rules.

University's Stand

The university, speaking through their representative, said the rules are clear. Only those who picked their options in the first round could sign up again. However, they mentioned that if Kavya Sri sends a request, the university might think about it.

Court's Decision

The court, led by Chief Justice Sri Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin, decided that Kavya Sri could send a request to the university. The university must then look at her case within two days.

"We have not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case," clarified the judges.

What Happens Next?

If the university allows it, Kavya Sri's application will be considered for the open seats in the final round. This means she still has a chance, but it depends on the university's decision.

Final Thoughts

The court didn't make any decisions on whether Kavya Sri was right or wrong but gave her a chance to explain her situation to the university. There are no extra costs involved in the request, and any pending requests are closed.
