Quick Summary: Mohammed Akbar Alam filed a complaint against the Telangana police, claiming harassment without proper legal steps. The court told the police to follow the rules while Alam must help with the investigation.
Mohammed Akbar Alam, who lives in Hyderabad, filed a complaint against the local police. He said the police were bothering him by calling him to the station over and over without any official notice. Alam argued that this was wrong and violated his rights under Articles 14, 19, and 21 of the Indian Constitution.
"The actions of The State of Telangana, The Commissioner of Police, and The Station House Officer... are illegal, unfair, planned, mean, and go against the Constitution."
The police, represented by the Assistant Government Lawyer, explained why they acted as they did. They got a complaint from Ms. Tejaswini Singh on October 2, 2025. She said that Alam and another person, Abdul Sarwar, made a fake Instagram account and posted inappropriate pictures. This led to the registration of FIR No.816 of 2025 under several sections of the IT Act and BNS.
Alam said that the police held him on October 1, 2025, even though there was no crime registered against him yet. However, the police clarified that he was called in for questioning related to the FIR filed the next day.
Justice N.V. Shravan Kumar was in charge of the case. The court did not say whether Alam's claims were right or wrong but told the police to follow legal steps. At the same time, Alam was told to help with the ongoing investigation.
"The petitioner shall cooperate with the pending investigation in FIR No.816 of 2025."
The court decided that the police must follow the rules while investigating, and Alam has to cooperate with them. The decision tries to protect Alam's rights while letting the police do their job properly.
