Quick Summary: Sundaramoorthi, accused of using force and bad language, is asking to be let out on bail in Erode. The court has agreed, but with some conditions.
On November 24, 2025, the High Court of Madras looked into a case involving Sundaramoorthi, who filed a request against the Deputy Superintendent of Police in Perundurai, Erode District. The case was recorded as Crime No.213 of 2025. Sundaramoorthi wanted the court to think about his bail request on the same day he turned himself in.
Poomani from Nasiyanyur accused Sundaramoorthi of using force and bad language when he asked her to pay back a loan. She said he used her caste name and made inappropriate comments. Sundaramoorthi denied these claims, saying they were made up.
"These allegations are nothing but a figment of imagination," said Sundaramoorthi.
The government lawyer, Mr. K.M.D. Muhilan, disagreed with Sundaramoorthi's side of the story. The charges included laws from the Indian Penal Code, Tamil Nadu's law against harassing women, and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The total loan amount was Rs.2,91,000. Poomani said Sundaramoorthi threatened her several times and even gave a CD with an audio recording as proof.
Justice M. Nirmal Kumar noted that the bad words were said in private, not in public. Considering this, he told the Principal District and Sessions Judge for SC/ST Act cases in Erode to look at Sundaramoorthi's bail request on the day he turns himself in. The court stressed the need to let the victims share their side of the story.
"The petitioner shall surrender before the Jurisdictional Court within a period of fifteen days," ordered Justice Kumar.
The court allowed Sundaramoorthi's request on November 24, 2025, but he must turn himself in within fifteen days. This case shows how complicated legal fights can be when they involve personal disagreements and the need to listen to everyone's story.
