A recent court decision has told the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to deal with a complaint about illegal building work. The person who complained, K Satya Saibaba, had been waiting for something to be done about his complaint since October 2010.

Complaint Ignored

K Satya Saibaba filed a request to the court because the GHMC hadn't done anything about his complaint regarding illegal building work by a neighbor, K Jayalakshmi. Even though he submitted a detailed complaint on October 14, 2010, no action was taken.

"The respondents have neither taken any action nor passed any order on the representation of the petitioner," noted the court.

Court Steps In

The case was heard by Judge Suddala Chalapathi Rao. The court found that the GHMC had not responded to K Satya Saibaba's complaint and decided it was time for them to act.

GHMC Given Six Weeks to Respond

Judge Rao ordered the GHMC to reply to K Satya Saibaba's complaint within six weeks. The court stressed that the GHMC must follow the rules outlined in the GHMC Act, 1955. They must also give everyone involved a chance to be heard before making any decisions.

Case Closed Without Costs

The court finished the case and stated there would be no order regarding costs. Any other pending applications related to this case were also closed.

The court's decision emphasizes the need for city authorities to quickly address citizen complaints and follow the proper procedures required by law.
