Summary: A teacher from Telangana, Smt. S Aruna, filed a request claiming police harassment over a land deal gone wrong. The court dismissed her case due to lack of evidence.
Smt. S Aruna, a teacher from Khanapur Village, claimed she owned a piece of land in New Lingampally Village, Nirmal District. She made a sale agreement with two people, Sri Thummala Prasad Reddy and Sri A Sriram Reddy, for Rs. 55,08,000. They paid an advance of Rs. 7,50,000 but didn't pay the rest. Smt. Aruna then sent them a formal notice.
"The case of the petitioner is that Sri Thummala Prasad Reddy and Sri A Sriram Reddy wanted to buy the land but... failed to pay the remaining amount."
Smt. Aruna said that local police officers were bothering her because of the buyers. She claimed they were calling her to the station and pressuring her to settle the argument.
"The police officers at Khanapur, Mamda, and Nirmal Police Stations are regularly calling Smt. Aruna... and are threatening her to settle the dispute."
The police, represented by the government's legal representative, said they had not received any complaint or report against Smt. Aruna. They mentioned that there was no reason for them to call her to the station.
"No complaint/report is registered/pending against Smt. Aruna... the question of calling her to the police station and bothering her does not arise."
Judge N.V. Shravan Kumar looked at the case and found no evidence supporting Smt. Aruna's claims. The court decided that the request had no strong basis and dismissed it.
"The request being without strong basis fails and is dismissed."
The court dismissed Smt. Aruna's request because there was no proof to support her claims of harassment by the police.
