Quick Summary: In a case involving Manju Mehra and others against the late Dev Pratap Seonie's representatives, the Delhi High Court had to step in after a witness failed to appear for questioning. Justice Girish Kathpalia allowed one more chance for the witness to testify, with a condition.

Witness Goes Missing

On September 25, 2025, and November 4, 2025, the trial court had to end the evidence of RW-3, an important witness, because they didn't show up for a full questioning session. The people bringing the case, Manju Mehra and another, said there was an agreement with Dev Pratap Seonie's representatives' lawyers to delay the session, but the other side denied this.

Court Steps In

Justice Girish Kathpalia of the Delhi High Court looked at the case on December 3, 2025. Manju Mehra and another wanted another chance to bring RW-3 for questioning. The other side's lawyers, Mr. Shakeel Sarwar Wani and Mr. Imbisaat Liyaqat, agreed with the trial court's decision but were open to finding a middle ground.

One Last Chance

After talks, both sides agreed to give Manju Mehra and another one final chance to present RW-3 for questioning. However, this came with a condition: the people bringing the case must pay Rs. 25,000 to Dev Pratap Seonie's representatives within a week. If they fail, the chance is lost.

"One and only one opportunity to conclude questioning of RW-3 shall be granted," stated Justice Kathpalia.

Next Steps

Both sides are to appear before the trial court on December 9, 2025. The court will then set a new date for RW-3's questioning. The lawyer for Manju Mehra, Mr. Pramod Ahuja, was told to make the payment quickly, with the other side's lawyer providing bank details via WhatsApp.

Verdict Summary

The court decided to give one last chance for the questioning of the witness, RW-3, if the petitioners pay Rs. 25,000 to the other side within a week. If they don't, they lose this chance.
