Neeraj, also known as Khujjal, was granted bail on January 28, 2026, by the Delhi High Court. He was accused of being involved in a murder case in Paharganj, but the court found no strong evidence against him.
On the night between October 26 and 27, 2023, around 1:45 AM, a police officer, HC Dinesh, saw a young person running with a knife in Paharganj, Delhi. The officer found a dead body with stab wounds nearby. The police later learned that a young person, along with a friend named Akash, had confessed to the murder at the police station.
"The dead body had multiple stab wounds on the face, neck, chest, stomach, and lower part."
Neeraj was accused of telling someone named Bhanu where to find the victim, Amit, also known as Bewada. Bhanu then supposedly told the young person who committed the murder. Neeraj's lawyer argued that he was innocent and had been in jail since October 9, 2024, without solid evidence linking him to the crime.
Justice Girish Kathpalia noted that there wasn't enough proof to show Neeraj was part of the plan. The court wondered why the young person would admit to the crime if it was a planned murder.
"There is also no evidence to show that when Neeraj told Bhanu where Amit was, if he even did so, he knew Bhanu would pass that information to the young person."
Neeraj was granted bail with a personal promise of Rs. 10,000 and a guarantee of the same amount. He is not allowed to talk to any witnesses, or he might face consequences.
In summary, Neeraj was released on bail because the court found that there wasn't enough evidence to prove he was involved in the murder plan.
