Quick Summary: L&T Finance Limited asked the court to appoint someone to help resolve a disagreement with R.K. Automobiles. The court agreed to appoint this person, called an arbitrator, to help them work things out.
On February 18, 2026, the High Court of Delhi, led by Judge Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar, looked at a request from L&T Finance Limited. They wanted to appoint a single person to help settle disagreements with M/S R.K. Automobiles. This all started because of an agreement they made on August 31, 2020.
The disagreement is about a part of their agreement called Clause 13. This part says that if L&T Finance and R.K. Automobiles can't agree on something, they should get help from an arbitrator to sort things out.
"Any disagreement... should be taken to the one person chosen by LTF to help solve it..."
L&T Finance sent a notice on August 4, 2025, asking to start the arbitration process. The rules here are about making sure both sides stick to their promise to solve things with the help of an arbitrator.
The court checked everything and decided there was no reason to wait before choosing an arbitrator. Even though R.K. Automobiles showed up a couple of times, they didn't have a lawyer ready, so the court decided to move forward.
The court chose Ms. Sukhbeer Kour Bajwa to be the arbitrator. She'll manage the process and make sure both sides get to share their views. The disagreement is about 69 lakhs, so it's a big deal.
Both sides will split the costs of the arbitration. The arbitrator will look at what each side wants and make a decision. The court made it clear that by appointing the arbitrator, they are not favoring either side in the actual disagreement.
