Ayesha Begum, a 19-year-old student from Hyderabad, asked the court to let her sign up for MBBS/BDS courses under the Management Quota "B" category after she missed the deadline. Unfortunately, the court decided not to allow her request.
Ayesha wanted to sign up for MBBS/BDS courses but missed the deadline. Her lawyer, Sri Alluri Divakar Reddy, said it was an honest mistake and asked the court to allow her to register late.
"The student couldn’t sign up for admission under Management Quota 'B' category," said her lawyer.
The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, represented by Sri T. Sharath, didn’t agree to give more time. They had already started the counseling process on September 15, 2025, after a decision by the Supreme Court.
"The University cannot extend the date," said the University's lawyer.
Chief Justice Aparash Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin decided that the university's deadlines are important and can't be changed just for one person. They dismissed Ayesha's request.
"The cut-off dates for application or counseling are crucial," the court stated.
Ayesha's lawyer asked if she could apply if the university extended the deadline in the future. The court agreed that if the dates were extended, she could apply like anyone else.
"It would be possible for the student to make such an application," the court mentioned.
In the end, Ayesha's hope for a late registration was not granted, but she might have a chance if the rules change. The court's decision is final for now.
