Quick Summary: The court has granted Sneha Reddy the chance to reapply for medical college admission after missing initial deadlines due to illness. Sneha can now submit a new application for the next round of counseling.

The Case of Missed Deadlines

Sneha Reddy from Telangana, who was aiming to join an MBBS or BDS course under the management quota, faced a setback. She secured an All India Rank of 342588 in the OBC-NCL category but missed the first and second phases of counseling due to health issues.

Asking for Another Chance

Sneha applied to Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, asking to join the third phase of counseling. However, her request was initially not accepted, which led her to seek help from the court.

University’s View on Counseling Rules

The University's representative pointed out a notice that said students who missed the first phase of choosing options online couldn't join later phases. Exceptions were made only for those who had already taken part in the online options process.

Court’s Decision: A Ray of Hope

The court, led by Chief Justice Sri Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin, allowed Sneha to officially ask the University again. The University must look at her application within two days, which might let her apply for open seats in the upcoming counseling rounds.

"Petitioner is allowed liberty to make a representation... On receipt of such representation, the University would consider the same in accordance with law."

What’s Next for Sneha?

If the University agrees, Sneha can choose her options in the third phase and mop-up round, giving her another chance to get a seat.

A Neutral Stance on the Case

The court made it clear that it did not give any opinion on whether Sneha's case was strong or not, focusing only on being fair with the process.
