Quick Summary: Two brothers, Chennuri Sudheer and Chennuri Vasudev Rao, have been waiting over 30 years for payment after the government took their land. The court has now ordered the payment to be made within eight weeks.

Land Taken but No Payment

Chennuri Sudheer and Chennuri Vasudev Rao had their land in Chillepally Village taken by the government for a water project. This land was meant to be submerged for the Chillepally and Chinthagunta Tanks. Despite this, they haven't been paid for over 30 years.

Long Legal Fight

The brothers went to court in 1994 to get their payment. The District Collector was told to pay them in 1997, but nothing happened. The case went through several rounds in court and even reached the Supreme Court, which turned down the appeals in 2022.

"The lands were taken more than 30 years ago and till now payment is not made to Chennuri Sudheer and Chennuri Vasudev Rao."

Recent Updates

The case was brought up again, and the government promised to start the payment process. Yet, the payment was still delayed. The Land Acquisition Officer even wrote a letter to approve the budget, but no actions were taken.

Court's Final Decision

Justice N.V. Shravan Kumar has now told the government to pay the money as per the 2025 decision. The court stressed that this should be done within eight weeks.

"The court case is closed directing the government officials to pay the money... as quickly as possible."

What's Next?

The government has been asked to act quickly and avoid further delays. This decision brings hope to Chennuri Sudheer and Chennuri Vasudev Rao that they will finally get what they are owed.
