Ever heard of a house being torn down while the owner is away? Well, this happened to Ravi Kumar, who was living in Qatar. Let’s dive into the details of this unusual case.
Ravi Kumar owns a house at H.No.3-4-1/2/A in Ramanthapur, Uppal, Medchal-Malkajgiri District. While living in Qatar, Ravi discovered that someone was causing trouble back home.
In March 2025, Sunil Reddy decided to tear down Ravi's house. He didn’t stop there; he also dumped his materials on the property and began building something new. Talk about nerve!
"Neither Ravi Kumar nor anyone on his behalf has sold the property to Sunil Reddy."
Ravi filed complaints on June 27 and August 6, 2025, with the local police and the GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation). However, there was no response from the authorities, leaving Ravi with no choice but to go to court.
The case was heard by Judge B. Vijaysen Reddy. The court ordered the GHMC to look into the complaints and take action within four weeks. Both Ravi Kumar and Sunil Reddy will get a chance to share their sides of the story.
"Appropriate action will be taken on the complaints of Ravi Kumar."
Interestingly, the court decided not to inform Sunil Reddy about the proceedings. However, if Sunil feels this decision is unfair, he can approach the court to change the order.
The court has set a timeline, and everyone’s waiting to see what the GHMC will do.
Summary: The court has instructed the GHMC to investigate Ravi Kumar's complaints about the unauthorized demolition and take necessary action within four weeks. Both parties will have the opportunity to present their perspectives.
