Summary: A court in Chennai has ordered the release of a land plan schedule for a road project. The petitioner, K. Vasantha Kumar, must pay a fee to receive the documents.

The Case Begins

On December 16, 2025, the High Court in Madras, with Judge Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy, handled a case involving K. Vasantha Kumar from Porur, Chennai. Kumar filed a request asking the Special District Revenue Officer in Kancheepuram to give him a detailed land plan schedule for lands in Kollacherry Village, Kundrathur Taluk.

Why the Petition?

Kumar needed the land plan schedule for a proposed road project. Instead of the detailed schedule, he was only given a simple drawing. This led him to go to the court to get the necessary documents.

"According to the petitioner, such land plan schedule was not provided and, instead, a mere sketch was provided."

Court's Decision

The court decided that Kumar must pay the required fees to get the land plan schedule. Once he pays, the Divisional Engineer of Highways has to give him the documents within two weeks.

"The petitioner shall remit the necessary charges for obtaining a copy of the land plan schedule to the second respondent within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."

Next Steps

After Kumar pays the fees, he will get the land plan schedule within two weeks. This decision is meant to ensure that everything is clear and Kumar gets the information he needs for the road project.
