Summary: Dr. P. Chinnaiyan, a doctor known for helping the poor, lost a court battle to stay in his rented property in Poonamallee. The court said he didn't act in time to stop the eviction process.
Dr. P. Chinnaiyan, a doctor dedicated to serving those in need, found himself in a legal fight with B. Rabinson and others over a property issue in Poonamallee. The case was filed under CRP.No.2565 of 2023, and the decision was made by Judge P.B. Balaji on December 12, 2025.
Dr. Chinnaiyan argued that he was unfairly forced out of his rented property. He had previously won a court order in 2014 to prevent being kicked out. However, B. Rabinson and the others said they needed the property and had followed the rules to evict him.
"The person asking for the review is a doctor who helps society selflessly," said his lawyer, Mr. A.E. Chelliah.
The other side, represented by Mr. D. Bennington, argued that Dr. Chinnaiyan didn’t sign a rental agreement and didn’t show up in court when he was supposed to. They said they followed all the steps needed to evict him, including getting a court order when he didn’t appear.
Judge P.B. Balaji decided against Dr. Chinnaiyan, saying that the eviction was legal because it followed the correct procedures. The court noted that Dr. Chinnaiyan had enough time to challenge the eviction but didn’t act quickly.
"The other side removed the doctor from the property by following the law," Judge Balaji noted.
With the court rejecting his request, Dr. Chinnaiyan’s only option is to try to cancel the eviction order. The court suggested he continue his effort to cancel the order, but for now, the eviction remains in place.
