Here's the scoop: The Madras High Court has told officials in Namakkal to make a decision on a land document transfer application filed by Rani. They have 12 weeks to do it!
Rani, the person asking the court for help, wants the land ownership document (called a patta) transferred to her name. She applied online on November 13, 2025, asking officials to recognize her as the rightful heir of Late Thiru. Subbaiah. The land in question is located in Andipalayam Village, Tiruchengode Taluk, Namakkal District.
The case was heard on December 17, 2025, by Justice Abdul Quddhose. Rani's lawyer, Mr. V. Elangovan, argued that even though she submitted all the necessary papers, the officials hadn't taken any action on her application. This led her to file a formal request with the court.
Justice Quddhose didn’t give any opinion on whether Rani's application was right or wrong. However, he ordered the District Collector, Revenue Divisional Officer, and the Tahsildar of Namakkal to make a decision on the application. They also need to consider any objections from neighboring landowners or other people involved.
“The District Collector is directed to pass final orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within 12 weeks from the date of receipt of this order.”
The officials have until mid-March 2026 to make a decision. Rani and her legal team hope for a good outcome, while the officials must ensure they follow the court’s directive.
