In a recent court case, HDB Financial Services Limited and Chennammal M reached an agreement over a vehicle issue. Here's how it all happened.
HDB Financial Services filed a request to appoint a legal representative. The goal? To take back and hand over a vehicle from Chennammal M and Murugan Carr P. Judge N. Anand Venkatesh was in charge of the case.
Instead of a long court battle, Judge Venkatesh suggested that both sides come to an agreement peacefully. On August 13, 2025, HDB Financial Services offered a one-time settlement. They agreed to accept Rs.5,00,000 from the other side to settle the matter.
"If a sum of Rs.5,00,000 is paid by the respondents as a one-time settlement, it will be accepted by the applicant."
By September 16, 2025, the other side paid the agreed amount. Both parties confirmed the payment, and the court noted the settlement. HDB Financial Services agreed not to ask for anything more.
The other side had given some blank cheques to HDB Financial Services as security. With the settlement, the court ordered these cheques to be returned. Additionally, HDB Financial Services was to give a no-objection certificate within 15 working days.
"The applicant financial institution shall also issue no objection certificate to the respondents within 15 working days."
With the settlement in place and all conditions met, the request was closed without any costs. Judge Venkatesh's suggestion for a peaceful settlement worked well.
The case demonstrates how problems can be solved without long court cases, saving time and resources for everyone involved.
