The High Court at Hyderabad has extended a temporary pause on arrests related to a case involving the taking of vehicles. Judge Nooty Ramamohana Rao is overseeing the case, which involves a group of people questioning the fairness of a police report and the taking of their vehicles.
A group of 39 people, including A. Muthaiah and E. Venkateshwarlu, filed a complaint against the Government of Telangana and other officials. They argue that the police report No. 187 of 2014, registered at Halia Police Station in Nalgonda District, is unfair and random. They also claim that taking their vehicles goes against their rights.
The people involved are arguing against the taking of multiple vehicles. They claim these actions go against Article 19(1)(g) of the Constitution of India, which protects the right to work in any job or run any business.
"Taking the vehicles from the people involved is unfair, random, and goes against Article 19(1)(g) of the Constitution of India."
They are up against the Government of Telangana, represented by the main person in charge of the Home Department, various police officials from Nalgonda District, and a private company named PLR Company Pvt. Limited. The people involved have asked the court to cancel the police report and return their vehicles.
Judge Nooty Ramamohana Rao decided to temporarily pause the arrests related to this case. The Government's representative asked for four weeks to respond with their side of the story. The court agreed to this, and the case will be looked at again after four weeks.
The temporary pause on arrests will continue until the next court meeting. The court will look at the case again after the other side provides their response, which will give their version of events.
The case will be revisited to further examine the situation based on the new information provided by the respondents.
