Summary: On January 29, 2026, the Delhi High Court allowed Mohd Affan to stay out of jail temporarily in a phone snatching case. He had to pay Rs.10,000 and follow certain rules.

The Case Begins

On October 23, 2025, a phone snatching incident happened in New Delhi. The person who reported the crime said that two people on a scooter grabbed his mobile phone and drove away. The police report was filed online, starting the investigation.

Arrests and Recovery

The police investigation led to the arrest of Mohd Affan and another person, Mohd Saim, related to a different case. During their arrest, the phone belonging to the person who reported the crime was found with them, connecting them to the phone snatching incident.

Bail Application

Mohd Affan asked for permission to stay out of jail because he was worried about being arrested. His lawyer, Mr. Mohd Azhar, explained that Affan hadn't helped with the investigation because of this worry. Judge Girish Kathpalia was in charge of the case.

"Mohd Affan was worried about being arrested," explained Affan's lawyer.

Prosecution's Stand

The lawyers arguing against Affan's request didn't agree with letting him stay out of jail, pointing out that he hadn't helped with the investigation even after being told to. However, it was later confirmed that Affan did help with the investigation after the last court session.

Court's Decision

Taking everything into account, Judge Kathpalia decided to let Mohd Affan stay out of jail. He had to provide a personal promise to pay Rs.10,000 if he didn't follow the rules, along with someone else who would guarantee the same amount.

"If Mohd Affan gets arrested, he should be let out on bail," said the judgment.

This decision means that Mohd Affan can stay free while the court case continues, as long as he follows the rules of the bail.
