Summary: On January 30, 2026, the Delhi High Court decided not to let Amit@Point out on bail. Amit is accused of serious crimes involving a minor. Justice Girish Kathpalia made this decision because of how serious the accusations are and because of the evidence supporting them.

Background of the Case

Amit@Point asked to be let out on bail in connection with a police report No. 1198/2024. The case was filed at the Narela Industrial Area Police Station under several laws, including the POCSO Act. The accusations are very serious, involving the stalking and threatening of a 14-year-old girl.

Incident Details

The case started when the girl's father reported her missing, thinking she had been lured away. During the investigation, the girl was found and gave a detailed account of what happened. She said that Amit took her to a friend's office, kept her there overnight, and sexually assaulted her. He also reportedly threatened her during this time.

"The accused/applicant took her to his friend’s office and detained her overnight during which period he sexually assaulted her and even threatened her."

Arguments from Both Sides

Amit's lawyer argued that the girl's statements were inconsistent and claimed that Amit was wrongly accused. The defense pointed out that Amit has been in jail since December 20, 2024, and the trial has not yet concluded.

On the other hand, the State's lawyer, helped by Inspector Sudhir Rathi, argued against letting Amit out on bail. They stressed how serious the crime is and noted that all the witnesses supported the case against Amit.

Court's Decision

Justice Girish Kathpalia looked at the evidence and the seriousness of the crime. Because of how severe the crime is and the evidence supporting the prosecution, the court decided it was not right to let Amit out on bail at this time.

"Keeping in mind the severity of offence, especially the manner in which the 14-year-old girl was kidnapped and raped... I do not find it a fit case to release the accused/applicant on bail at this stage."

Verdict Summary

The request for bail was denied, and the court ordered that a copy of the decision be sent to the head of the jail. The trial will continue, and this decision about bail does not affect the overall trial.
