Summary: A decision by the Bombay High Court settles a long-running family argument over land money in Raigad. The court decided that Ramubai Krushna Patil can get her part of the money.
The land in question is located in Mauje Bokadvira, Uran, District Raigad. It was originally owned by Pandu alias Pandurang Mangalya Patil and his brothers. On September 24, 1986, it was taken for the Navi-Mumbai Project under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894.
On July 18, 2016, the court decided that ₹20,71,060 plus interest should be paid for the land that was taken. Ramubai and other family members asked for this money, and it was put aside on February 27, 2019.
"The court partly agreed with the request... and ordered the Special Land Acquisition Officer to pay ₹20,71,060 plus interest."
The trouble started when Kailas Ramesh Patil and others argued against Ramubai's claim, saying she wasn't Pandu's daughter and had no right to the money.
On October 10, 2019, the court said no one could get the money yet and suggested another court case was needed to figure out who the rightful family members were.
Ramubai disagreed with this decision, saying she deserved her part. She argued that she and Ramesh Patil (her brother) were already recognized as family in earlier court cases.
"The petitioner claimed that she had a half share in the money for the land of Pandu @ Pandurang Patil..."
Judge N. J. Jamadar decided on January 29, 2026, that Ramubai should get 50% of the money. The court found the arguments against her weak and noted that the others didn't act quickly enough.
"The petitions stand allowed... The court shall release 50% of the compensation to the share of late Pandu @ Pandurang Patil..."
The court decided that Ramubai Krushna Patil is entitled to half of the compensation money, resolving the family dispute in her favor.
