In a recent court ruling, Judge T. Madhavi Devi decided on a case involving a vehicle allegedly used in a forest crime. The court lowered the amount of money needed to get the vehicle back.

The Initial Bond Demand

The person asking for the vehicle back, A Thirupathi, was originally required to pay ₹1,50,000 along with two people promising to pay the same amount if needed. This was to release his vehicle, which was said to be involved in a forest crime.

Petitioner's Argument

A Thirupathi argued that his vehicle, which was registered in 2018, wasn't worth enough to justify such a high payment. He claimed it was impossible for the vehicle to have been involved in the crime.

Government's Stand

The government's lawyer referred to a Supreme Court case, stressing that vehicles used in forest crimes shouldn't be released easily. The request was to keep the original payment condition.

"The Courts should not be lenient in releasing vehicles which are involved in the commission of forest offences."

Court's Decision

Judge T. Madhavi Devi looked at a previous case where a similar payment was reduced. Considering this, the court lowered the payment to ₹50,000 with the same conditions for the release of the vehicle.

Summary of Verdict

The court changed the payment condition, allowing the vehicle to be released with a reduced payment. The other conditions stayed the same, and the case was closed with no extra costs.

``` "With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs."
