Quick Summary: A student from Telangana missed a crucial deadline due to illness and is now fighting for a chance to join an MBBS/BDS program. The court has given her a chance to present her case to the university.

Missed Deadline Due to Illness

Chakali Anjali, a 17-year-old student from Telangana, signed up for admission to MBBS/BDS courses for the 2025-26 school year under the management quota. Even though she got an All India Rank of 723019 in the OBC category, she missed the deadline to choose her options online because she was sick.

"Chakali Anjali argues that she applied for admission into MBBS/BDS course... before the deadline."

University's Strict Rules

The university, represented by Mr. G. Ravi, stressed that students who didn't choose their options online in the first round can't do so in later rounds. This rule is to stop people from holding onto seats without committing. Anjali didn’t fit into the group allowed to register again since she missed the first round.

"Students... who do not choose their options in the first round... cannot do so later... to stop seat holding."

Court's Decision

The court, led by Chief Justice Sri Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin, has allowed Anjali to present her case to the university. The university must look at her case within two days if she submits her request.

"Chakali Anjali is allowed to present her case... the University must consider it according to the rules."

What’s Next?

If the university lets Anjali choose her options online, her case will be looked at for any open seats in the final round. The court has not made any decision on whether her case is strong yet.

"If the University lets Chakali Anjali choose her options, her case will be considered for open seats in the final round."

This case highlights the challenges students face with strict admission processes and the need for flexibility in special situations.
