Quick Summary: A court has instructed the police not to get involved in a land dispute in Jayashankar Bhupalpally District, Telangana. The case includes claims of police harassment and attempts to take over land.
Sriramula Rajaiah and Smt Sriramulu Ramadevi, who brought the case to court, own farmland in Ramannaguda Village. They say the police, influenced by Katukoori Thirupathi Reddy and Katukoori Satyanarayana Reddy, have been pressuring them to settle a land argument. The petitioners argue that this action is illegal and violates their rights.
"The police are calling us to the station without valid reasons," said Sriramula Rajaiah and Smt Sriramulu Ramadevi.
Sriramula Rajaiah and Smt Sriramulu Ramadevi have land in Sy.No.1/39/1, Sy.No.27, and Sy.No.28, with official papers showing they own it. They claim that Katukoori Thirupathi Reddy and Katukoori Satyanarayana Reddy are trying to take their land. The police allegedly threatened them to solve the issue outside of court.
The Assistant Government Pleader, speaking for the police, said a complaint was made against Sriramula Rajaiah and Smt Sriramulu Ramadevi on August 5, 2025. The police called them for a meeting and decided it was a civil issue. The complaint was closed, and the parties were advised to go to a civil court.
"This is a civil dispute, not a criminal matter," clarified the police.
Judge N.V. Shravan Kumar closed the case, telling the police to follow the law and not to get involved in civil issues. The court stressed that such disputes should be settled in the right civil courts.
The court's decision makes it clear that civil and criminal matters are separate, ensuring the police do not get involved in issues outside their authority. Sriramula Rajaiah and Smt Sriramulu Ramadevi can now seek resolution through the proper legal channels without police interference.
