Quick Summary: Anil Kumar and Mukesh Kumar Deva were caught with 67.570 kg of Ganja in Telangana. They asked to be released on bail, but the court said no because of the large amount of drugs involved.

The Arrest: Caught with Ganja

On May 9, 2025, Anil Kumar and Mukesh Kumar Deva were arrested in Bhadrachalam, Telangana. They were caught with a huge load of Ganja—67.570 kg to be exact. The police stopped them in a Mahindra XUV 500 and took the drugs.

Legal Charges: Serious Drug Offenses

The case was registered under C.O.R No.113 of 2025 for breaking rules in the NDPS Act. These rules are about having and selling illegal drugs, especially in big amounts.

The Bail Hearing: Arguments from Both Sides

Justice K. Sujana listened to the case. The lawyer for Anil Kumar and Mukesh Kumar Deva said they were innocent and wrongly blamed. He mentioned they had already been in jail for 54 days and most of the investigation was done.

The lawyer for the government disagreed, saying the drugs were a "commercial quantity" and the investigation wasn't finished. He also worried that since Anil Kumar and Mukesh Kumar Deva were from Rajasthan, they might not come back for trial if let go.

"The alleged contraband involved is of a commercial quantity, and the investigation is still pending," said the Prosecutor.

The Court's Decision: No Bail Granted

Justice K. Sujana decided not to give bail. The judge noted that because of the large amount of Ganja, the law makes it tough to get bail unless there’s strong proof of innocence, which wasn't shown.

"There is no sufficient material at this stage to prima facie establish the innocence of the petitioners," the judge stated.

Verdict Summary

The court turned down the request for bail, meaning Anil Kumar and Mukesh Kumar Deva will stay in jail while the investigation continues.
