The lawyer for the government disagreed, saying the drugs were a "commercial quantity" and the investigation wasn't finished. He also worried that since Anil Kumar and Mukesh Kumar Deva were from Rajasthan, they might not come back for trial if let go.
"The alleged contraband involved is of a commercial quantity, and the investigation is still pending," said the Prosecutor.
Justice K. Sujana decided not to give bail. The judge noted that because of the large amount of Ganja, the law makes it tough to get bail unless there’s strong proof of innocence, which wasn't shown.
"There is no sufficient material at this stage to prima facie establish the innocence of the petitioners," the judge stated.
The court turned down the request for bail, meaning Anil Kumar and Mukesh Kumar Deva will stay in jail while the investigation continues.
