In a recent decision, Judge Tirumala Devi Eada addressed a request about an ongoing investigation in Nirmal District. The person accused, Mr. Raghavendra Sharma, wanted to stop the investigation, but the court decided to keep it going.
The case started when Mr. Raghavendra Sharma filed a request to cancel the investigation in case number 134 of 2025. This case was registered at Lokeshwaram Police Station for alleged crimes under certain sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
Mr. L. Bhargava Krishna, who represents Mr. Raghavendra Sharma, initially wanted to stop the investigation. However, during the hearing, he changed his approach and asked the court to tell the police to continue with the investigation by sending a notice.
"The lawyer for the petitioner has asked for directions to the Police to continue with the investigation."
On the other side, Mr. Jithender Rao Veeramalla, the Additional Public Prosecutor, did not object to this request.
Judge Tirumala Devi Eada looked at the arguments and details of the case. Since the alleged crimes could result in punishment of less than seven years, the court decided not to go into the details of the case. Instead, it instructed Mr. Raghavendra Sharma to cooperate with the investigation.
"The petitioner is directed to appear before the Investigating Officer on or before 21.11.2025."
The court stressed that the investigation should follow the rules and the guidelines from the Supreme Court's decision in a previous case.
With these instructions, the request to stop the investigation was closed, allowing the investigation to continue. Any other pending requests were also closed.
