Here's the scoop: The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court decided not to change an earlier decision asking C. Balasubramanian to pay Rs. 5,00,000 to Ramesh. Balasubramanian wanted to pay less, but the court didn't agree.

The Case Background

C. Balasubramanian and Ramesh are from the same town in Karur District. Balasubramanian was originally told by a local court to pay Rs. 10,00,000 to Ramesh. He only paid Rs. 1,25,000 at first.

Appeal and Changes

Balasubramanian asked a higher court in Karur to review the case. This judge lowered the amount to Rs. 5,00,000 on July 24, 2024. So, Balasubramanian was supposed to pay Rs. 5,00,000 instead of the original Rs. 10,00,000.

What Balasubramanian Wanted

Balasubramanian's lawyer, Mr. P. Rajagopalan, asked the court to let him pay just 25% of the amount on the cheque. He said his client was ready to pay the rest of the Rs. 5,00,000 and needed more time.

"The petitioner is ready to deposit the balance amount apart from what’s already paid," said Mr. Rajagopalan.

Court's Decision

Judge Shamim Ahmed reviewed the case and decided there was no need to change the order. The judge said Balasubramanian's request to pay only 25% wasn't fair.

"The order directing the petitioner to deposit the balance amount is justified and requires no modification," Judge Ahmed noted.

Final Ruling

The court turned down Balasubramanian's request to change the payment terms. The case is closed, and there are no extra costs for either side.

In summary, Balasubramanian has to stick to the Rs. 5,00,000 payment, and the case is wrapped up.
