In a recent court decision, the contempt case filed against the Regional Passport Office in Hyderabad was closed. The case was about not following a previous court order. Here's a breakdown of what happened.

The Contempt Case

Malavath Sevya filed a contempt case against Sri Jonnalagada Snehaja, the Regional Passport Officer, for not following a court order from January 31, 2025. The case was heard under certain sections of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971.

Court Hearing

During the hearing, Mr. G. Narahari represented Sevya, while Ms. L. Pranathi Reddy stood for Sri Jonnalagada Snehaja. The court was led by Justice J. Sreenivas Rao.

Compliance Confirmed

Ms. Reddy, the lawyer for Sri Jonnalagada Snehaja, stated that the Passport Office had followed the court's previous order. Sevya's lawyer did not argue against this claim.

"The respondent has complied with the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.2694 of 2025," said Ms. Reddy.

Case Closure

Justice Rao decided that no further action was needed since the order was followed. Therefore, the contempt case was officially closed on August 22, 2025.

"In view of the above said submission, this Court is of the considered view that no further adjudication is required," stated Justice Rao.

This decision marks the end of the legal proceedings in this matter, with all pending extra applications also being closed.
