Quick Summary: Priya Rao missed the registration deadline for MBBS/BDS courses under Management Quota 'B' & 'C' and asked the court to intervene. The court decided not to extend the deadline.

The Missed Deadline

Priya Rao, with the help of her lawyer Sri Abdul Kabeer, asked the court to let her register for MBBS/BDS courses under Management Quota 'B' & 'C'. She missed the registration deadline and wanted to join the ongoing counseling for the 2025-26 school year.

Previous Cases and Requests

Sri Abdul Kabeer asked the court to look at a similar case from August 21, 2025, where late registration was allowed. However, the university's lawyer, Sri T. Sharath, said that the deadline had passed and the counseling process had already started.

"The last date for applications has been closed," said Sri T. Sharath.

Court's Decision

The court, led by Chief Justice Sri Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin, decided that extending the deadline would mess up the university's schedule. They stressed that deadlines for applications and counseling are strict and should be followed.

"There is no point in asking the University to consider Priya Rao’s application for fresh registration," the court stated.

Future Possibilities

The court mentioned that if the registration dates are extended in the future, Priya Rao can apply again. However, as of now, the request was turned down with no extra costs.

"In case the date of applications is extended, it would be open for Priya Rao to make such an application," the court noted.

The court's decision shows how important it is to stick to deadlines in school admissions.
