Summary: The High Court has ordered an investigation into the activities of the Coimbatore Malayali Samajam after K. Rajagopalan filed a request, pointing out poor management.
K. Rajagopalan, who is part of the Coimbatore Malayali Samajam, asked the High Court for help. He wanted the government official in charge of overseeing clubs and groups to check how the society was being run and how they handled their money. The Samajam, which started in 1956, is meant to support learning and cultural activities for Malayalis in Coimbatore.
K. Rajagopalan said that the society was not being run properly. He had already sent a complaint on July 21, 2025, but nothing changed. Frustrated, he asked the court for help.
"The petitioner sent a written complaint to the Registrar of Societies on 21.07.2025 about the poor management of the Coimbatore Malayali Samajam."
Judge M. Dhandapani listened to the case. The court noticed that a similar problem had come up recently. In that situation, the court asked for an investigation, and the official in charge was told to take action within 12 weeks.
"This Court, by its order dated 28.10.2025, had asked the Registrar of Societies to look into the petitioners' complaint and make a decision within 12 weeks."
The court told the official in charge to include K. Rajagopalan in the upcoming investigation planned for November 18, 2025. The official must listen to everyone involved and make a decision based on what they find out.
The court's decision aims to make sure that the society is run openly and responsibly. The investigation should address any problems and help the Samajam work better for its members.
