Quick Summary: Sunil Kumar was accused of stealing expensive foam soaps worth a lot from his employer in Delhi. After several legal developments, he was granted anticipatory bail by the High Court.

The Alleged Soap Heist

On December 25, 2024, Sunil Kumar, who worked at M/s D.A.G. Trade & Facility Management, was accused of stealing 14 boxes of expensive foam soaps. The soaps were supposed to be sent to Sonipat, but the order was canceled. Instead, they were supposedly taken to a shop in Preet Vihar, Delhi.

The Investigation Unfolds

The person who reported the theft had known Sunil since their time at Siemens and noticed something was wrong with the soap boxes. CCTV footage showed that only 54 out of 70 boxes were returned. Investigations found that sales were made to Manish Mittal and Umesh Chand, who admitted to getting the goods and paying Sunil.

The Legal Battle Begins

Sunil's first request to avoid arrest was denied on June 13, 2025. However, he was temporarily protected from being arrested. His lawyer argued that the whole case was made up because of personal grudges, and the real value of the stolen goods was much less than claimed.

The Court's Decision

Dr. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma noticed inconsistencies in the prosecution's claims. The allegedly stolen goods were said to be worth ₹67 lakhs, but evidence suggested the value was much less. Sunil was granted anticipatory bail on December 9, 2025, with conditions to help with the investigation.

"The applicant has made out a case for grant of anticipatory bail," stated Dr. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma.

Conditions of the Bail

Sunil must assist in the investigation when asked, not leave the country without permission, and must not try to influence witnesses. Any change in his contact details must be reported quickly.

What's Next?

Sunil's case shows the complicated nature of legal fights where personal relationships and business mix. While he enjoys temporary freedom, the investigation continues.
