Summary: The Delhi High Court has canceled the early bail given to Anchit Jain, who is involved in a large international drug trafficking case. The court found strong evidence connecting him to a plan involving 39.706 kg of hydroponic marijuana smuggled from Thailand to India.

The Case Background

On December 19, 2025, Judge Ajay Digpaul of the Delhi High Court made a decision in the case involving the State and Anchit Jain. The case is about a big drug bust that happened on October 2, 2024, when the Special Cell in Delhi discovered a huge illegal drug operation. This operation led to the discovery of 39.706 kg of hydroponic marijuana and 1,289 kg of cocaine/mephedrone in several places including Delhi, Gujarat, Punjab, and Mumbai.

The Investigation Unfolds

The investigation started with a police raid on October 1, 2024, in Mahipalpur, Delhi, where several people were caught with large amounts of drugs. Further investigations revealed an international drug group with connections to the UK, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand, and Dubai. The group was allegedly run by leaders Virender Singh Baisoya and Sandip Sansar Dhunay.

Anchit Jain's Role

Anchit Jain, along with Mayank Jain, was identified as a main player in the marijuana supply chain from Thailand to India. The prosecutors showed evidence including phone call records, WhatsApp messages, and statements linking Anchit to the drug plan. His activities in Thailand, especially a meeting in Phuket in June 2024, were highlighted as part of the plan to smuggle drugs into India.

Court's Decision to Cancel Bail

The High Court found that the lower court made a mistake in giving early bail to Anchit Jain on May 14, 2025. The court stressed the seriousness of the charges under the NDPS Act, which requires strict conditions for bail in cases involving large amounts of drugs. The court noted:

"The large amount of drugs found and the international nature of the group require a complete investigation without being stopped by bail."

The court criticized the lower court for not properly considering the rules and the evidence presented, which included digital evidence and witness statements.

Summary of the Verdict

The court decided that the early bail was given without properly considering the legal rules and the evidence of an ongoing international drug operation. Therefore, the bail was canceled, allowing the investigation to continue without any interruptions.
