The court has decided not to move forward with a case where Y Sampath Kumar accused the police of misconduct. Here's what happened and what it means for everyone involved.
Y Sampath Kumar filed a complaint saying that the police, specifically Prashant Reddy and Ganesh, hurt him and scared his family. He wanted the court to make the police take action against those officers.
"…torturing the Petitioner in the last week of October, 2016 in police station and terrorizing him and his family members…"
Kumar said the police were trying to make him drop another case, O.S.No.13 of 2010. But during this complaint, that case was dismissed, so Kumar asked the court to close his complaint, too.
Judge N. Tukaramji decided to dismiss the complaint because the original case was already closed. The court said Kumar can still try other legal actions if needed.
"…reserving the right of the petitioner to avail appropriate remedies in accordance with law, if any cause survives…"
Even though this complaint was dismissed, Kumar can still take other legal actions if he feels there's still an issue. The court didn’t order any costs to be paid.
The court dismissed Kumar's complaint because the related case was already closed. However, Kumar still has the option to pursue other legal actions if he believes there is a reason to do so.
