Quick Summary: The Bombay High Court has increased the monthly support money for Purvi Mukesh Gada from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 3,50,000, pointing out differences in financial information given by her ex-husband, Mukesh Popatlal Gada.

Background of the Case

Purvi and Mukesh Gada got married on November 16, 1997, and lived in Pune. They were married for 16 years until they separated in 2013. Mukesh asked for a divorce in 2015, which was granted in February 2023 by the Family Court in Pune, saying Purvi was cruel and setting the monthly support money at Rs. 50,000.

Appeals and Temporary Requests

Both Purvi and Mukesh disagreed with the Family Court's decision. Purvi wanted the support money to be increased to Rs. 5 lakhs per month, while Mukesh wanted to cancel the support payments, saying he couldn't afford them.

Mukesh's Financial Claims

Mukesh argued that he couldn't pay the support money because he didn't earn much and said he had already paid Rs. 21.65 lakhs during the court case. He claimed that Purvi earned enough from her business and tutoring.

"Mukesh is a partner of multiple firms... but would argue that he has no income from them," the judgment noted.

Court's Observations

The court found Mukesh's claims of not having enough money unconvincing. Evidence showed he was involved in a successful family business, the Gada Group, which has a lot of property and financial services.

"Mukesh’s land buying and legal skills have helped the group grow a lot," according to the Gada Group's website.

Purvi's Financial Situation

Purvi has been the only one taking care of their daughter since 2013. She argued that the current support money wasn't enough given Mukesh's financial situation.

"Purvi has the right to live a life of dignity and to provide her daughter a life of dignity," the court stated.

Court's Decision

The court decided to increase the support money, pointing out Mukesh's hidden wealth and lifestyle that didn't match his claims of financial problems.

The court ordered that Purvi should receive a total monthly support payment of Rs. 3,50,000.
