Hey everyone! Big news from the Bombay High Court. On December 1, 2025, Judges Manish Pitale and Manjusha Deshpande cleared five men who were accused of a brutal murder in Nashik. Let's break down what happened.
On August 17, 2017, around 10:00 p.m., Suraj Khode and his friends were hanging out in front of Happy Games Zone in Kala Nagar, Nashik. Suddenly, a group led by John Kajale allegedly attacked them. Nikhil More, one of the friends, was hit multiple times with sickles and a chopper. Despite attempts to save him, Nikhil died from his injuries.
"John Kajale said he wouldn’t leave Nikhil alive and attacked him with a sickle."
The trial court in Nashik had found the accused guilty on November 10, 2020, sentencing them to life in prison. However, the accused, including Roshan Pagare and others, challenged the decision, claiming they were wrongly accused because of past conflicts.
Another supposed eyewitness, Sachin Kadam, was found unreliable by the trial court.
No Weapon Recovery:
The weapons supposedly used in the crime were not found, and the forensic report was negative.
Delayed Police Report:
The High Court found that the evidence was not strong enough to find the accused guilty. The judges noted that the stories of the injured witnesses were not supported by other evidence. The court emphasized the possibility that the accused were wrongly blamed because of previous conflicts between the parties.
The five accused were ordered to be released immediately unless needed in other cases. This judgment highlights the importance of strong evidence and how past conflicts can affect legal proceedings.
