Quick Summary: E Sadanandam fought for his job recognition from 1992, but it was only acknowledged from 1996. After his passing, his family continues the battle for his rightful benefits.

The Petitioner’s Struggle

E Sadanandam, an employee of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation, filed a request because his job wasn't officially recognized from the date he started, January 13, 1992. Instead, it was done from August 1, 1996. His coworkers who started after him got recognized from their start date, and he wanted the same.

"The action of the Depot Manager in not recognizing E Sadanandam's job status on par with his coworkers... is wrong, unfair, against the rules..."

The Legal Battle Begins

Sadanandam’s lawyer, Sri A.K. Jaya Prakash Rao, argued that the delay was unfair. E Sadanandam tried to fix this by writing to the authorities multiple times, but nothing changed. His last effort was a letter dated April 24, 2006, acknowledged on May 15, 2006, but still ignored.

Tragedy Strikes

Sadly, E Sadanandam passed away on May 10, 2009. His family stepped in, seeking the benefits he was owed. They referred to a similar case, Dharam Singh v. State of Uttar Pradesh, which supported their claim for back pay and benefits.

"His family members are eligible to get benefits of the deceased employee..."

The Court’s Decision

Justice Namavarapu Rajeshwar Rao heard the case. The court didn’t give a final decision on the case but told E Sadanandam’s family to submit a new request. The authorities were ordered to respond within eight weeks to see if he was eligible for benefits.

A summary of the verdict: The court instructed the family to reapply for the benefits, and the authorities must respond within a set time frame. The decision on whether the family will receive the benefits is still pending.

This case highlights the importance of timely justice and the ongoing struggle for fair treatment in the workplace.
