Quick Summary: A man named Bathini Lingam took his case to court, claiming the police were bothering him to leave his land. The court decided that the police should stay out of this issue unless legally necessary.
Bathini Lingam, a businessman, filed a complaint against the police, saying they were bothering him. He claimed that the local police officer in Valigonda, Yadadri District, was pushing him to leave his farm. Lingam wanted protection from this alleged harassment.
Lingam's lawyer, S. Bhooma Goud, argued that the police were going beyond what they are allowed to do. They were supposedly calling Lingam to the station and pressuring him to leave his land, which is 320 guntas in size in Nemili Kalva village.
"The police are bothering my client to leave his rightful land," said Goud.
On the other side, the Assistant Government Lawyer, Mr. R. Laxmikanth Reddy, defended the police. He argued that the police never called Lingam or messed with his land. According to them, the complaint lacked any solid proof.
"There is no proof of police interference," Reddy stated.
Judge N. Tukaramji looked over the case. After considering both sides, the court told the police not to get involved in what is basically a disagreement over property. They can only step in if it's strictly according to the law.
"Police should not interfere in property matters," ruled Judge Tukaramji.
The court's decision makes it clear that the police must stay within their legal limits. This ruling protects Lingam from the alleged harassment and ensures that property disputes remain private matters. The case was closed with no extra costs, and any pending requests were dismissed.
