Quick Summary: G K Constructions wasn't paid for their work on a housing project. The court has now ordered the government to pay up within four weeks.

The Petitioner's Complaint

G K Constructions, led by Ponnam Harikrishna, was left waiting after completing 2BHK housing projects. Even though they finished the work as agreed on December 31, 2020, they hadn’t received their payment. They decided to take the matter to court, hoping something would be done.

Government's Side of the Story

The government, represented by officials from the State of Telangana, including the District Collector of Khammam, the Commissioner of the State Housing Corporation, and the Executive Engineer of the Tribal Welfare Division, admitted to the delay. They explained that the final bill of ₹16,92,282 was prepared but not yet approved. They agreed to pay ₹14,59,989 after making some deductions.

"The net amount payable to the petitioner is ₹14,59,989," said the government representatives.

Court's Decision

Judge Nagesh Bheemapaka listened to both sides and told the government to pay the agreed amount within four weeks. The court didn’t make the State of Telangana or its representatives pay any extra costs.

What's Next?

The court's order is meant to settle the payment issue quickly. G K Constructions should receive their money soon, thanks to the court's involvement.

This case shows how important it is to make payments on time and how sometimes going to court is needed to get what is owed.
