In a recent court decision, Ramesh Medi, the owner of M/s Ramesh Medi, got the approval to challenge a tax order. This case involves a disagreement over GST for the years 2019-2023.
Ramesh Medi filed a request against an order dated April 7, 2025, which imposed tax interest and responsibility under the Central and Telangana State Goods and Services Tax laws. The issue revolves around a tax rate change that started on July 18, 2022.
Ramesh's lawyer, Mr. Muktinutalapati Ramachandra Murthy, asked for permission to challenge the order. The court, led by Chief Justice Apresh Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin, agreed. They gave Ramesh the go-ahead to present his case to the higher authorities.
"The petitioner may be granted permission to argue about the payment of the different tax rate."
The court allowed Ramesh to file an appeal within ten days, as long as he made the necessary required deposit. The higher authorities will then review his case according to the law.
The court wrapped up the hearing without making either side pay extra charges. This decision means that Ramesh can continue his fight without additional financial burden from this particular court session.
Ramesh Medi now has a chance to resolve his GST issues, with the hope of a favorable outcome in the higher court.
