Summary: A group of doctors in Tamil Nadu want a new round of counselling for cardiology job openings. The court has now ordered the state to announce the number of openings.

Doctors Ask for a New Round of Counselling

A group of doctors led by Dr. K. Karthik filed a request against the State of Tamil Nadu. They wanted a new round of counselling for cardiology jobs. The request was filed on December 15, 2025, in the Madras High Court.

The Unannounced Job Openings

The doctors argued that during the counselling sessions on November 13 and 20, 2025, some job openings were not properly announced. They claimed extra openings appeared unexpectedly during the sessions for service Post Graduates.

"Twelve additional openings were announced suddenly and were not mentioned in the earlier counselling," said Dr. K. Karthik and his fellow doctors.

Circular Confusion

The Director of Medical Education & Research issued a notice on December 6, 2025, for new counselling. But then they cancelled it, leaving the doctors confused. Dr. K. Karthik and the other doctors made a request on December 11, 2025, but got no reply.

Court Gets Involved

Judge M. Dhandapani ordered the State of Tamil Nadu to announce the number of job openings within two weeks. This will allow Dr. K. Karthik and his colleagues to take action according to the law.

"If there is any opening in the Cardiology Department, it should be included in a new round of counselling," said the court.

What’s Next?

The court's decision means the state must act quickly. Dr. K. Karthik and the other doctors are hopeful that this will lead to a fair new round of counselling.
