Summary: Himanshu Nayak, involved in a dagger attack case in New Delhi, has been granted bail by Judge Girish Kathpalia. The decision was made on January 20, 2026, after looking at the situation around the arrest and the roles of those accused alongside him.

The Incident: Dagger Attack in New Delhi

On September 10, 2025, an incident happened in New Delhi, where Himanshu Nayak and another person, Himanshu @ Rawan, allegedly helped Deepak attack someone with a dagger. The attack occurred at PS Anand Parbat, and fortunately, the victim survived.

"Himanshu Nayak and the other accused held the victim, after which the main attacker, Deepak, stabbed the victim in the back with a dagger."

Arguments for Bail: A Young Man's Request

Himanshu Nayak's lawyers, Mr. Yatharth Rohila and Mr. Abhishek Juneja, argued that he is only 20 years old and has been in jail since September 10, 2025. They claimed that keeping him in jail wasn't necessary, especially since his co-accused, who had a similar role, was already out on bail.

The Prosecution's View: Hiding and Arrest

The Additional Public Prosecutor, Mr. Sanjeev Sabharwal, noted that while the co-accused was caught on the same day as the incident, Himanshu Nayak had run away and was only caught nine months later. This was a major point against giving him bail.

The Court's Decision: Bail Granted

Judge Girish Kathpalia observed that Himanshu Nayak's role was similar to that of his co-accused, who was already out on bail. Therefore, there was no strong reason to treat him differently. The court decided to grant him bail with a personal bond of Rs. 10,000 and a surety.

"There is no good reason to deny Himanshu Nayak the same treatment as Himanshu @ Rawan."

Next Steps: Release and Conditions

The court ordered that the bail order be immediately sent to the Jail Superintendent for Himanshu Nayak's release. He must provide a personal bond and follow the conditions set by the trial court.

This case shows how the courts carefully consider the actions of those accused to ensure justice and fairness.
