Pradnya, with the help of her lawyer Mr. Prashant R. Katneshwarkar, argued that she had been honest and followed all the guidelines. The problem came from Bharat Petroleum's own advertisement, which wrongly labeled the location.
"The company itself had issued the advertisement... labeling the location as a Rural Retail Outlet."
The court, with Judges Manish Pitale and Y.G. Khobragade, found Bharat Petroleum's actions unfair. They noted that Pradnya had not lied about anything. The court stressed the importance of supporting women entrepreneurs and ruled in her favor.
To fix the situation, Pradnya agreed to pay the extra charges between a Rural and Regular Retail Outlet. This was Rs.11,02,000. The court ordered Bharat Petroleum to bring back the offer letter once she made this payment.
